2008

December 11, 2008: Merged some photography articles into a shorter article on cameras, rewrote my thoughts on web design and my rant about compact discs. Deleted a page here and there, none that will be missed.

November 13, 2008: Added a new page with a beginner's course in music notation, incorporated the now-deleted page on note names into this article.

November 12, 2008: Revised and added illustrations to the pages on intervals and scale theory. Split the chord theory page into two: chord theory and chord functions. Added lots of music examples to both.

November 11, 2008: Added a page on chord voicings, significantly revised the essay on scale theory, added music examples to selected theory articles.

October 3, 2008: Split the page about tunings into separate pages about overtones and tuning systems. Made some minor corrections to the page about intervals.

October 2, 2008: A lot of pages needed some work, and it took time to collect my thoughts, as well as get them down on virtual paper. There are new articles on chord theory, power chords and a little self-biographical vignette called Reinventing the Feel. Then, I have made significant revisions to the page on chord symbols and the one on intervals.

July 25, 2008: Added an article on ~~why you shouldn't downtune~~.

July 23, 2008: Added a page explaining my brand of guitar tablature and a page on repetition in lead guitar playing. Revised the ~~Tablature vs. Musical Notation page~~, the page about musical colors and the page about classical music as guitar exercises.

July 22, 2008: Rearranged my photo gallery, removed some and moved some.

July 18, 2008: Revised my links, added some writings about photography.

June 15, 2008: Added pictures from the Boston/Niagara Falls trip. Revised the page about my guitar.

February 24, 2008: Added and rearranged both my Links pages (One. Two.) Finally added an article about ~~my camera~~.

February 22, 2008: Updated the photo gallery—re-edited some photos, removed some, resized most of them to around screen size.

February 20, 2008: Added nine new photographs, this time film scans in black and white.

February 13, 2008: Added 11 new photos and one new link.

January 24, 2008: Revisions of most major pages, mostly cutting words and putting relevant information above the fold. Removed lots of pictures from the photo gallery.

January 12, 2008: Finally uploaded some pictures from Paris! Revised my page on scale theory. Added a boatload of Albums of the Week, as well as a discourse on my ~~camera lenses~~.

2007

December 29, 2007: Rewrote the My Guitar page to make it up to date following recent equipment purchases.

December 3, 2007: Added three photographs from a recent shoot with my father's band.

November 15, 2007: I have now started working on the Swedish-language edition of my website! Please visit the Swedish index page and surf to the individual sections from there. Work in progress, lots more to follow. Please note that the Swedish site will be a separate entity unto itself and not just a literal translation of the main English version. I see the future... someone will recommend that I learn PHP!

In this language, updates are as follows: Added two new Albums of the Week. As the song goes, "He was helplessly behind"...

October 31, 2007: Added nine photographs from our recent trip to Stockholm to see one of the greatest bands in the world: Rush.

October 24, 2007: Added six new photographs: three from my début as a wedding photographer on Oct 20, three from a hike with Linus, Morgan and Kenneth.

October 16, 2007: Updated the main subsection pages of the site with revised text. Removed vignette pictures pending further experimentation in Photoshop.

October 13, 2007: Happy birthday to Chris Carter! Added six new pictures in various categories from today's reconnaissance trip to Gothenburg's Botanical Gardens. Autumn colors are really nice!

October 12, 2007: Added a piece on How to Crack the Classical Code and made significant revisions to the essay on authentic performance. This is part of a general overhaul of my material on classical music, so stay tuned for more such events.

October 9, 2007: Updated my page about myself to reflect my recent change in marital status, added a nice picture of my wife as well. Rearranged the Links page a bit and finally posted a tentative definitive ~~Nick on Photography~~.

October 3, 2007: More overhaul of the photography section, removed a dozen or so pictures that just don't cut it anymore. I also reverted all the creatively named pictures to their original file names as given to them by my cameras automatically. This makes it easier for me to keep track of which file is uploaded where. More importantly, I've been known to take the originals and run them through Photoshop once in a while just to see if there is anything I can improve—keeping the original file names means that I don't have to do major detective work every time this happens.

September 27, 2007: Major renovation of the photography section: removed some pictures, removed the individual gallery pages and experimented with putting all thumbnails on one big gallery page.

August 21, 2007: Added some pictures to various photo galleries. You find them. Updated the ~~photography comments page~~ as well.

August 16, 2007: Deleted some pictures from various photo galleries, updated my ~~piece on photography~~ as well as the page about my guitar stuff.

July 18, 2007: Cut out the theory on the first scales page and pasted them into a separate page on scale theory. Hopefully put the final touches to the page on chord symbols. Updated the ~~piece on photography~~ too.

July 5, 2007: Added an introduction to musical intervals. Revised the page on scales (including its continuation page) and my ~~page on tablature vs. music notation~~. Updated the ~~piece on photography~~ and the photo gallery as well.

July 3, 2007: Revised the page on chord symbols, my thoughts on web design as well as my page about myself.

July 1, 2007: Added a page on two-handed tapping and a new page with ~~miscellaneous music theory technicalities~~. Revised the pages on ~~note names~~ and musical tunings.

June 26, 2007: I have been cleaning out my local Drafts folder. New additions are pages on ~~guitar types~~, arpeggios and how to use classical music as guitar exercises. Also revised the page about my guitar stuff.

June 24, 2007: Added five Albums of the Week; it just ain't no fun writing one a week! Rearranged the ~~piece on photography~~, added a long page about ~~my discovery of classical music~~ and my thoughts on the ~~Floyd Rose double-locking guitar vibrato system~~. Added a link.

June 15, 2007: Added some stuff to the Writing section: a page about authentic performance in classical music and my ~~thoughts on photography~~. Completely rewrote the ~~Beethoven collection page~~.

June 13, 2007: Added some more photos, primarily a ~~fifth Gothenburg gallery~~.

June 8, 2007: Added a ~~new Portraits gallery~~ as well as some new pictures in the ~~fourth Gothenburg gallery~~.

May 25, 2007: Added a ~~new photo gallery~~.

May 13, 2007: Finally caught up on my so-called Album of the Week section by adding four more.

May 12, 2007: Filled the ~~third Gothenburg gallery~~ with new pictures. Created a ~~fourth gallery~~ and added another ~~nocturnal picture~~.

April 29, 2007: Added six new Albums of the Week—for your information, I am two albums from being back on the one-a-week schedule I decided on in October. Also added a link to the second links page. Some minor corrections and face-lifts but nothing worthy of mention.

April 22, 2007: Added a a little discourse on my guitar stuff. Been on Nostalgia Alley, so added the Gods of Grind acts as four new Albums of the Week. Rewrote my page on web design. Edited the update archive to remove or change references to removed, merged and/or moved pages.

April 19, 2007: Finally put some text on the page about myself. Resaved the banner on top of every page with less JPEG compression. Redid the two black and white pictures in color and moved them to the ~~third Gothenburg gallery~~.

April 13, 2007: Added a ~~third Gothenburg gallery~~ with some new pictures, added another two photos in the ~~black and white gallery~~.

April 6, 2007: Added a page with ~~commentaries on selected photographs~~, posted a new version of the ~~Twins~~ picture (new crop, subtly different color-B&W conversion—plus no weird orange frame!).

March 17, 2007: Happy Saint Pat's, everyone! New from Nick is a slightly modified photo gallery, where I've added two pictures to the ~~2nd Gothenburg gallery~~ and put all nocturnal photos in a separate ~~Gothenburg by Night~~ gallery.

March 14, 2007: Added four photos to and removed one photo from the ~~2nd Gothenburg gallery~~.

March 9, 2007: Two new photos in my ~~2nd Gothenburg gallery~~ from our Friday after-work session at a local restaurant.

March 6, 2007: Added six Album(s) of the Week as partial retroactive compensation for my recent absence.

February 18-19, 2007: Added a page on ~~my Beethoven collection~~, added some thematic pictures on certain pages.

February 17, 2007: The de-verbalization is complete and now the site looks about as I want it. The only thing that is missing is to—load it with more content!

February 13, 2007: Finished—sort of— the main pages of the site, work still in progress on the Writing subsection. Split the links page into two, moved some stuff, have a look around and check out the new furnishings...

February 11, 2007: Restructured the Photo Gallery significantly. Other major renovation projects ongoing, in the meantime I apologize for the inconvenience and occasional 404:s.

2006

December 17, 2006: ~~Added a third photo gallery from Gothenburg, this time from the Liseberg Christmas theme.~~ Added not one, not two but three Albums of the Week as retroactive compensation for my absence over the past three weeks.

November 30, 2006: Added some science-fiction goodies to the Links page.

November 25, 2006: Added a new Album of the Week.

November 22, 2006: Added a little piece on music/color synesthesia to the Writing section. Added some links, ~~tightened up the site map~~ and removed my redirect pages.

November 19, 2006: Minor facelifts and revisions to all pages. ~~Remade the Books page into an index, added four subpages to reduce page size.~~

November 18, 2006: Added a little essay on compact discs to the Writing page. Added a new Album of the Week. Some cumulative updates to my warmup, non-legato and legato exercise pages. Rewrote the page on web design completely.

November 15, 2006: Added some links. Added a custom 404 page. Revised ~~Guess Which Page~~, but this revision was mostly about adding music examples.

November 14, 2006: ~~Updated the Discography with the rest of the recordings I've done over the years.~~ Updated the ~~page on tone names~~ for the 13th time or so.

November 12, 2006: Added a new Album of the Week. Clarified the Nov 9 update by putting the contents of the former Scales page in two separate documents: part 1 (diatonic modes) and part 2 (other modes and scales). Minor revisions to some theory pages.

November 9, 2006: Cumulative update of changes made over the past four days, mostly revisions~~, but the Scales page has been split into two~~. Added some links and cut some text in various places.

November 5, 2006: ~~Added a News section to the home page plus the complementing news archive.~~ Revised the page about myself ~~and added some more non-fiction books to the Collections subsection~~. Polished the entire music section as well.

November 4, 2006: ~~Added a page on classical music to the Collections section.~~ Added a new Album of the Week. Revisions of the various music theory pages (one wonders if they'll ever be finished).

November 3, 2006: Major revisions to the ~~Scales and~~ Chords pages, also on my page on web design. ~~Furthermore, I have split the update page and archived the updates of previous years on individual pages.~~

November 1, 2006: Revised all photo galleries. More text updates probably coming shortly.

October 29, 2006: Added a ~~second photo gallery from Gothenburg~~. ~~Added two new books, posted a first, incomplete version of the non-fiction books section.~~

October 28, 2006: Added a new Album of the Week, revised the music theory section, primarily the pages on ~~tone names~~ and tunings.

October 27, 2006: Significant revisions to the ~~page about tone names~~.

October 21, 2006: ~~Moved the Books page into a new section called Collections, where I also added the Album of the Week subsection.~~

October 20, 2006: Added an essay on the relative merits of ~~tablature vs. musical notation~~ to the music theory section. ~~Made some progress on the book collection, which is finished except that I need to write reviews for 150+ books!~~

October 19, 2006: ~~Completed the text on the Gothenburg photo gallery, added two pictures as well.~~ Split the guitar exercise page into the three component pages Nonlegato Exercises, Legato Exercises and Warmup Exercises (no real revisions of these).

October 18, 2006: Revisions of the ~~Danish~~, ~~Internet~~ and Tunings pages. Added a print media CSS file for every page—check Print Preview in your browser.

October 16, 2006: Revisions of the guitar chord page ~~and the acoustics page~~. The latter is now split into Tunings and ~~Tone Names~~.

October 15, 2006: ~~Rewrote the text on the Toronto and London photo pages.~~

October 14, 2006: All-in-one update with lots of revisions and changes I've made over the past week. Most pages have been revised.

October 8, 2006: Converted site to XHTML 1.0 and validated all pages. Minor revisions of certain pages.

October 4, 2006: Minor revisions, changed index page.

October 1, 2006: Minor revisions to many pages, nothing special.

September 16, 2006: Added pictures to the ~~Gothenburg photo gallery~~.

April 3, 2006: My own domain is now up and running. During the past weekend I have worked some more on the upcoming section on my books. I also added an essay on acoustics, uploaded 15 MP3 files and did some minor reorganization.

March 31, 2006: Validated the entire Links page, updated with local bookmarks of note. Created Phonecam photography page. Tinkered some more with the CSS. Registered domain name www.niklasandreasson.se.

March 30, 2006: Changed CSS file, took care of typography errors on misc. pages

2005

October 27, 2005: Added more links, uploaded the Dallas pictures. (Why would I think to upload them when they work fine here?)

October 26, 2005: New CSS with preliminary navigation system and weird page titles. Footer fixed and all links hopefully work. Next I'm going to learn a little or two about image editing, so see you in 2009!

October 23, 2005: "Soon" my ass! But anyway: redid the entire site, added some pictures, wrote new stuff. Site still not finished. Will it ever be?

February 17, 2005: Shrunk thumbnails, removed crazy yellow boxes. Stay tuned for more updates soon!

November 2, 2004: Wrote new editorial, finally, f-ing about time, Nick! Also decided to make a clean decision about letting the editorials speak for themselves and make this be the last such update announcement on this page, which will hopefully not be read as much as the editorial, or something.

August 25, 2004: Updated this page but not the rest of the site. Aww, that's REALLY bad...

August 24, 2004: Wrote editorial, uploaded page, redid index page. Updated this page.

August 18, 2004: Uploaded more pages, except the index and editorial, which will require more work.

August 17, 2004: Uploaded photography page.
