Home > About
My name is Niklas Andreasson and I live in Gothenburg, Sweden. The purpose of this website is an outlet for my hobbies and passions: music, photography and writing.
I have been playing the guitar since 1985, either by myself or in one in a long series of more or less serious bands. My current project is a progressive thrash metal band called Namlar that I started together with my two best and oldest friends in early 2009. Another project is a covers band that provides live music for parties in and around Gothenburg. My most recent musical project is home recording, which I started in October, 2011.
Photography has been a part of my life from day 1 through the influence of my father, but I didn't take up the hobby in earnest until my 30th birthday, when my family bought me my first digital camera. Since then I have shot a few friends' weddings and spent quite a lot of time walking around town to see what I can catch on virtual film.
Writing is another passion that's been around basically ever since I learned it. It is perhaps self-evident given the verbosity of this website. But I am also the author of two unpublished novels: a spy novel that I finished in 1996 and a music novel that was finally completed in 2011.
This is my wife Erin on our wedding day, September 1, 2007. She and I met online many years ago and got to know each other through a common passion for The X-Files. We chatted, exchanged e-mails, letters, eventually phone calls, and somewhere along the way something clicked and after she visited me for the first time in the summer of 2002, there was no doubt about it.
I proposed to her the summer after that, and that autumn, she decided to move to Sweden to live with me. In October, 2004, the immigration red tape was finally entangled, and a few months later, the moving van came east.
